Reinstalling Windows XP Pro

Hello, I need your help reinstalling Windows XP Pro. I already saved all the files I want keep onto a
disc. I am using a HP Pavilion 750c and was told by an support technician to press an F# key or delete button touninstall Windows. I have tried everything but nothing works. I am wondering if popping in the Windows XP CD and clicking where is says “Install Windows XPâ€, is the same thing without uninstalling the the first Windows XP. If not, can you please help me to completely uninstall windows and install it again

Have you tried to go to the bios and set it to boot to the cd first? The XP
disk has the capacity to format the disk and then reinstall XP . Jym

I appreciate you help, but this BIOS, is it the one that shows the computer set-up?
 
Yes. You enter the bios immediately after the computer starts and you see
the posting information. This is usually done by holding del after computer
starts. Jym

On some HP's you can hit escape when you first start up and it will give you
a little popup to change the boot order. Going into the bios isn't
neccessary.
 
Hi ya Robert.....You can install xp over it's self. I installed mine once
and it works ok. Next time I'll probably do a clean install. I'd say go on
the net and look for some help. Just do a Search for XP reinstall, and see
what comes up. Good Luck
