If i remove XP off my computer, How will the fact that i bothered to
activate it ( u know phoning Microsoft with the particulars ) affect it?.
What about reinstalling it , do i have to call Microsoft again ?

P.S I thought Activation would speed XP up.... it hasn't ME was alot
faster but not as stable as XP.

Activation has nothing to do with speed. ME was faster on your older
computer because it is an operating system that has lower system
requirements than XP. It was not as stable because it isn't a very good
operating system (there are lots of other reasons, too).

If you want to reinstall XP and it has been more than 120 days you will
be able to activate online with no issue. If the online activation
doesn't work, you will be presented with a toll-free telephone number
to call and the process will take only a few minutes. So this is no big
deal.

If it's "no big deal", why make people do it? If there isn't a
possibility to be turned down, what's the point?

Since I don't work for Microsoft I can't answer your question, Alias.
You would need to ask an MS marketing executive I suppose.

Windows XP has been out since late 2001 and I can tell you that I have
installed and reinstalled more copies of it than I can count in the
last 5 years and I have never had a problem activating any of the
installs.

If you don't like the way Microsoft does things, don't use their
products. Here are some alternatives:

My way or the highway, eh? With the monopoly that MS has, that's a bit
arrogant, don't you think? Like you said, you've never had a problem
wasting your time to have a phone activator activate XP many times, so
what's the point? Do you know of *any* cases that were turned down?

This is life, Alias. If you want to use Microsoft products, you have to
do it their way. Microsoft does not have a monopoly on operating
systems. I already gave you links for many other alternatives. Stop
whinging and use one of them.

I am through with this thread.

It's not arrogant at all and the so-called "monopoly" that MickeyMouse has
is only in your mind. There ARE alternatives now and plenty of people are
using them, including Malke.

That still doesn't answer the question I asked. It answers the question
"what can I do instead of using Windows", not the question I asked. I
want to know if phone activation is always approved, what is the point?
Do you know the answer to that or will you, too, like Malke, divert the
subject to "MS' way or the highway", stop being a whinger, etc. or
answer the bloody question? If you, like me, don't know, don't bother
answering.
