Reinstall XP Pro Help Needed

I have win xp pro on drive c which is a large drive spread out to drives C,
G, H Xp is on drive c. I want to remove Drive D (20meg drive) install new
Hard Drive 40 gig, now when i boot computer should give me same things except
empty drive D.
I want to be able from inside win xp install win xp pro to NEW Drive D. When
Done shut Down computer Swap Drives and Make D the new c boot for win xp pro
then transfer settings from Old drive c New D to New C.. Can this Be done?

you can do all that except change the drive letters.

Once XP is setup, it uses the drive it is setup on for it's location in the
registry. Very difficult to change.
