How is it done if my pc does not recognize (emulate access to) the xp-home
disc at bootup? That's the drill I'm used to in xp-pro. The consequence is
that I now have two copies of xp installed - against both mine and
Microsofts wishes. I could not use the repair-xp option as the idea was to
install on a larger partition. I figured that I could delete the old xp from
the new, but naa .. Is obtaining a file for creating bootdiscs the only
option?

Did you set the BIOS boot sequence to CD-first? All MS XP cds are
bootable, but you must set the boot sequence in the BIOS.

Yep. Even disabled the boot-drive, but xp started anyway.
