Hello:

Can I reinstall XP Home upgrade on a different PC?
The PC that I was using is no longer working so I was wondering if it
can be reused on another PC with windows 98 on it.

Thanks

Yes.

If it's an upgrade license, it must be retail, which is relatively
unrestricted.

If it was last activated a while ago (I think that it's 120 days), you can
activate it on the new machine online. If it has been shorter than that, the
new activation will probably fail, and you'll have to do it by telephone. In
the US, it's a toll-free call, and takes about 5 minutes. Make sure to be
clear that XP will be running on only one PC.

(Actually, you can install XP on any number of PCs. You are only supposed to
have one copy activated at any time, though. There is no deactivation.)

Return address scrambled. Replace nkbob with bobkn.
