Recently, my laptop was infected by spyware and I am thinking about
reinstall windows XP. I would like to format the entire hard drive. I
have windows XP CD, but the laptop has no floppy drive. How can I start
the laptop, and format my hard drive and reinstall windows?

Thanks,

Autogoor

You don't need the floppy. Set your BIOS to boot from CD, and follow the
instructions.

The Windows XP cd is bootable. Set your machine to boot from the cd-rom
drive.

However, since you have a laptop, you should refer to the laptop's
manual for exact instructions regarding reinstallation.

You boot from the CD and do a clean install.
