Reinstall search

Is there a way just to reinstall the search feature of Windows XP? Something
happened and I recieved a msg that it couldnt find a file and now when i lick
on search, it takes forever for the character to come up but then the bubble
doesnt say anything at all.

I have SP2 already installed. The download wont onstall (same reason) and I
tried reinstall the search companion files but that didnt help either. thanks
for the info though.
