Reinstall of Vista

E

EricLoadwick

I have a laptop running Windows Vista. It had Microsoft office and other
microsoft programs running on it. The hard drive died and I had to replace
it. I reinstalled Vista but I don't have any of the other software I had
before. How do I get Microsoft Office back on my computer. The only disk
that came with the computer when I bought it was the Windows Vista Restore
disk. I'm not concerned about the other software, just the Microsoft Office.
Thanks.

Contact the laptop manufacturer.

You need to contact the laptop manufacturer.
Microsoft Office has never been a part of any version of Windows.
The manufacturer will tell if and how it is possible possibly sending
the media.

However trial versions of Microsoft Office are routinely sold with new
computers.
If you had a trial, it was time limited and and you may need to
purchase Microsoft Office.
Check your invoice to determine if Office or a trial version was
originally included with the computer.

You can purchase Microsoft Office from many online and brick and mortar
stores. If its a full OEM version that came with your PC, you would have the
Disk and COA (Certificate of Authenticity). It sounds like your copy was
just a trial copy included with your purchase which can be easily downloaded
from http://officeonline.microsoft.com

Although Microsoft Office is bundled with new PCs it is usually a 60 day
trial version - that is the version that came with a computer i recently
purchased, anyway. After the 60 days you either hav to buy the full version
or else remove Microsoft Office from your PC.

If the PC manufacturer did install the full version of Microsoft Office
wihout any limitation, then, like others, i suggets you contact the PC
Manufacturer.

The restore disc that usually comes with laptops is designed to restore the
machine to the condition it was in when you bought it. If it didn't restore
MS Office, then the laptop didn't come with Office installed. This being
the case it must have been subsequently installed from a set of Office discs
at some point. If you don't possess such items then I'm afraid you'll have
to buy a copy.
