Reinstall IE6

A

Alex H

I want to reinstall IE6 on my Win XP SP2 box. I downloaded the IE6setup
file from Mircorsoft. But when I run it I get an error stating that a
previous install/update was done and I need to reboot. Then run Setup again.
So I reboot, run setup again and get the same thing.

Any suggestions?

Hi Alex

Windows XP SP2 comes with Internet Explorer 6.0 SP2 which is not available
as a separate download. You should re-install SP2 if you wish to do this.
I'd suggest ensuring that you have a backup or recent system restore point
before you do this.

Hi Alex :)

Try the following and see if it helps:

How to Reinstall or Repair Internet Explorer and Outlook Express in Windows
XP

But, before repairing IE6 SP2 you will have to remove Windows XP Service
Pact 2 from Control Panel>Add or Remove Programs.

Hope this helps
