reimport existing table

I have a frequently updated vendor table that I get from a legacy system. I
would like to automatically reimport this table on a regular basis. I am
hoping for some suggestions as how to go about this. Also, other tables
relate to this table for vendor names. Does this impact the reimport process?

Why not just link to it. Files that can be Imported and files that can be
link are limited to the same file types. If you link your data will always
be up-to-date. You link pretty much the same way as you import.

I can't link it because it comes from a completely incompatible system.

The file that you are currently importing must be a downloaded text file of
some sort, or some other recognizable to Access format. If you copy over a
file that is linked to an Access table, with a file that has the same
structure but different data, the new data will be in your table and
everything should work with the new data as well as it did with the old data.
Do it this way and you avoid the import process.

it an access file somehow, don't I? I am confused.

It took me a while, but I finally understood what you were trying to tell me.
Linking to the text file works beautifully - I can replace the text file at
will, and the link always points to the most recent one. Thanks!
