regserv32 command gets What do you want to open with

On an XP Pro SP2 when I want to unregister or reregister a .dll I am not
able to do it. Instead of that, I get the What Do You Want to Open this
file with dialouge box. I ran SFC twice and no help.

If anyone knows how to fix this, please let me know.

If I'm not mistaken (I am not at my computer at the moment), I normally
use REGSRV32. Is REGSERV32 supposed to be the same?

Try regsvr32, not regsrv32 or regserv32.

Well, I had all the right notes, just not in the right order

I mistyped. I mean to type Regsvr32 ( the command-line tool that registers
dynamic-link libraries (dlls) and ActiveX controls in the registry)
and typing the correct command does get that dialouge box.
