RegOwner Instaling Microsoft Programs not being picked up

I just bought a new PC from dell with OEM install and have set the regowner
to my name under HKLM/Software/Microsoft/WindowsNT/CurrentVersion
however whenever I install a new program it does not pick up the
inforamtion. Anyone have any ideas???

I don't understand the problem: are you just annoyed that
you have to enter your name every time you install a
program? you have to anyway - what if your
son/daughter/wife/flat mate (etc) wanted to install
something that was registered to them?
