REGISTRY_ERROR Heads Up!

If you receive a blue screen error that says REGISTRY_ERROR, do not do a repair install! I had a registry_error and was told by several people to do a repair install. So I did, and when it was almost done with the repair, I got this error message-The Procedure Entry Point GetIUMS could not be located in the dynamic link library MSDart.DLL. I have no idea what this means, but I couldn't get past this and had to do a clean install, losing all of my data that wasn't backed up. Losing 10gig of MP3's was not fun. I don't know what caused this error, but I hope nobody else has this problem.

What was the exact original error message including the Stop Code? This
one:

"0x00000051: REGISTRY_ERROR"

which doesn't necessarily mean a 'Repair' install.
