Registry won't keep changes.

Using Regedit I deleted a key value. I selected it and clicked the delete key
and it disappeared. I clicked the "X" to exit the program. I immediately
reopened the registry and the deleted value was right back where it had been.
I have removed viruses and spyware. I ran "sfc" from the Command Prompt, but
so far nothing has changed.

Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Some spyware may still be there which is not showing itself. You need a
better spyware solution or just take a log of HijackThis and post that to the
corresponding forums.
