Registry Tweaks

What is the difference between:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\
Explorer\MyComputer\NameSpace\DelegateFolders

In the left pane, delete the sub-key {59031a47-3f72-44a7-89c5-5595fe6b30ee}

and

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explore
r
NoSharedDocuments
REG_DWORD
0 or 1
0 = Shared Documents
1 = NO Shared Documents

I am trying to eliminate the "Files stored on this computer" section. I
checked a computer that does not have that section listed under My Conputer
and neither of the above tweaks were true for that computer, yet the section
is not listed. Additionally, there was were no manual registry changes made
to that computer. Is there something else that removes that section?

Thanks for any assistance.

Sarah,

Those sure look familiar.

I used TweakUI to remove Files stored on this computer from My Computer.

My key
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\MyComp
uter\NameSpace\DelegateFolders\{59031a47-3f72-44a7-89c5-5595fe6b30ee}
Has no, nada, zip, nothing in the Value Data.

The following key can be added by using TweakUI or it can be added manually.
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explore
r
NoSharedDocuments

Shared Documents Folders Are Missing From My Computer

[[CAUSE
This problem may occur if a computer is prepared by using an OEM
Preinstallation Kit (OPK) tool, such as Sysprep.exe. With this type of
computer preparation, the component revision number for the Ee4uinit.exe and
Shell32.dll files for the user is not reset, and the user's locale is empty.
Because of this, Explorer does not start Ie4uinit.exe or Regsvr32.exe.]]

See if the other machine has this key...

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\DocFol
derPaths
Value name: user name
Data type: REG_SZ
Value data: user profile\My Documents
