After installing SP2 for XP home edition whenever I do a
cold start(after computer being shutdown) I get the
following message word for word:

"One of the files containing the sytem's registry had to
be recovered by use of a log or alternate copy. the
recovery was successful" ..............then I click the
ok button and everything works as it did before but not
near as fast.

My question is: Can this problem be fixed and will it
lead to registry problems down the road. I am fairly new
at this and am very concerned.. My PC was working just
fine before the SP2 update...

Thanx in Advance for any advice

Sounds like you may have had a problem before and now
that you have SP2 with added security it shows your
problem up,you may want to invest in a registry
mechanic, there are some free to try $ to buy at
www.download.com they'll fix a limited # of registry
problems. If it showed up once and no more don't worry
about it.But if it shows every time, you have a
problem, and there's gonna be a time when you get rid of
the backup where-ever its at.If you have used
highjackthis, spybot search and destroy you may want to
look for registry entries in there backup files.Do you
use these?
