I recently edited my registry file at the direction of my
Virus Protection provider to clean up from the Spybot
Worm. Ever since, some programs do not ALWAYS work. I
recently uninstalled MS Streets and Trips and now I
cannot REINSTALL. The error (1402) points to an entry in
the Current User directory in the registry - but the file
it references seems to be ok. HELP. Is there any hope
short of rebuilding?

Hi

Try a System Restore back to a point before the problem started.

Depends......and beings you never mentioned which program(s):

Start your troubleshooting by reading here:

Added info:

To use the Regedit: Save the REG File to your hard disk. Double click it
and answer yes to the import prompt. REG files can be viewed in Notepad by
right clicking on the file and selecting Edit.

Kelly,

Thank you so much - your EXE FIX did the trick. I was
able to reinstall Streets and Trips. You are truly an XP
Angel.

Thanks again!!!!!
