i was fixing some virus problems in my xp pro pc and
after i downloaded sp1 the pc tried to restart to
complete the install and it froze. after 15 minutes of
wondering what was going on, i did a hard reboot. when
the pc loaded to just before the log on screen i got;
stop: c0000218 {registry file failure} the registry can
not load the hive (file); \systemroot\system32
\config\software or it's log or alternate. it is corrupt,
absent, or not writable. i have forgotten the
administrator password so i can't do a windows repair.
please pass suggestions this way.
