registry editing

i'm trying to run a patch that adds to the registry on xp
home edition and i keep recieving the message - registry
editing has been dissabled by your administrator -
however, I am the administrator and i didn't set any
restrictions or dissable anything for the registry. can
anyone please help.

I'm having the same problem. Anyone else hear of this or
have a solution?
