Registry Cleaning Tools for 2K

I've done some searching through Google and the most recommended freeware
registry cleaning software for some time now seems to be Reg Cleaner from
jv16.org. By all accounts, it appears to be highly compatible with Win2K.
However, there is now a small cost for it.

My question is this: how well does the registry management package
contained in Norton Systemworks Pro compare to something like Reg Cleaner?
Since I've got the 2004 Norton version (haven't tried it yet), is there any
benefit to going with the Reg Cleaner? TIA

Most of the folks here are not much in favor of using "registry
cleaners". Just one more possible way of breaking a perfectly good
operating system.

I generally agree that someone unfamiliar with the registry probably
should leave it alone, however there are times when a cleaner helps,
particularly when an program needs to be uninstalled and reinstalled. A
lot of un-installers do not remove registry entries and without cleaning
invalid entries before re-installing the program it just inherits the
settings and problems it had before.
