How do I make a change to the registry to disable the
Add/Remove programs option under control panel? Where I
work, we have to take microsoft's games off of the
computer, and there is one user who adds them back. Also
it is necessary for them to keep Administrator
priveleges. I know this probably wont keep them from
installing games from a CD, but thats a lot easier to
catch. Thanks,
Rush

Instead of changing the registry, change the employee. If they put games
back on after being told not to, then first they get a formal warning from
boss/supervisor, if they continue they get suspended without pay, if they
continue they get fired. Problem solved. If your policy is no games, then
it's no games. Violators should be delt with accordingly.

But you are in charge of the computers? Are you the admin? If so is this xp
pro? Maybe it can be done with group policies? Take a look there. I never
had a case like this cause on the computers I take care of the users do what
I say or they get in trouble.(and I'm not a supervisor, but I am the systems
administrator)

I'll take a look at group policies. I've only been
working here a couple of weeks, and my boss says, "this
person likes to add games back to their computer". so i
don't even know what the person looks like, much less
have i talked to him. anyway, thanks.

Another possibility is to rename or delete the .cpl file(the icon in control
panel). The add/remove icon is appwiz.cpl.
