Registration

I ordered a new PC without the OS since I already own a copy of XP Pro. Am
wondering about any registration problems I may have when I install the OS
on the new machine.

Anyone have prior experiences with this?

Just put CD into drive & follow instructions. XP Pro just
does it for you. The only change I had to do was to tell
the BIOS that I was using a USB keyboard. I have just
finished doing what you are about to do. feel free to

First of, note that the issue is with *activation*, not registration. Registration is entirely optional. It's activation that's required.

Is your copy of XP already installed on another computer? If so, you can not do this, without first removing it. It may be on only one computer at a time.

Is your copy of XP retail or OEM? If it's retail, you can move it to your new computer. If it's OEM, the terms of the EULA prevent your moving it even if you remove it from the original computer. It's permanently tied to the first computer it's installed on.
