The registery has several invalid keys in it. but I cannot delete or modify
them. When I try to edit or delete them I get "Invalid entry" or something
close to this.
Yes, I'm logon as administrator. The entries came about because of a bad
install of software. Reinstalling the software does not help.

Thank you for any suggestions.

Try setting permissions for the registry key to give your account the
required permissions to delete it. In the registry editor right click
the key and choose permissions.

Try doing a system restore to before the software installation

When I try to change the permissions I get the error when I hit apply.

On some of the keys it shows I have permissions to do everything but I still
have the problem. Is there a way to change the registery with out using
regedit?

Do a system restore to before the software was installed or install the
drive as a slave drive in another win2k or XP computer. Open regedit
for that OS and load the problem registry.

For info on editing the registry for other users go to:

Another option is to create a BartPE boot disk and edit the registry
from there. http://www.nu2.nu/pebuilder/

Create a new manual system restore point.

Then use RegSeeker, free from http://www.hoverdesk.net/freeware.htm
Choose the "Clean the registry" option and see what it wants to
remove. You can select all or just one (or some) of the listed items
for actual removal. Make sure the default setting to back up the
items before deletion is set.

Good luck
