I have sold a computer that I built and installed WXPro.
When I do a SYSTEM PROPERTIES it has the registered owner
as myself.

This is especially annoying to the person who purchased it
because when software is installed it uses this
information to fill in blanks.

Is there any method to change the registered owner to the
new system owner?

Greetings --

To fix the "Registered to" information for WinNT/2K/XP, you can use
Start > Run > Regedit.exe to edit:

HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\Current Version\RegisteredOwner

and:

HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\Current
Version\RegisteredOrganization

How this will affect the name displayed in previously installed
applications will vary depending upon each individual program; some
read the registered owner information dynamically, while others read
it only during installation.

You can run regwiz -r from Run above the start box or
from command prompt in os. It takes inventory of software
& personal data input. You can check if registry got
updated afterwards. if you want to go there.
