How do I change name(s) who my computer is registered to? It still is mine,
and always has been, but unfortunately I am separated now, and want to only
have my name there. Thanks in advance for any help with this question...

Click 'Start', then select 'Control Panel'.
Double click on 'User Accounts'.
Select 'Change an account'. Then click on the account name you want to
remove.
Select 'Delete the account'.
That's it!

Start | Run |Regedit.exe, click ok. Navigate to

HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\Current Version\RegisteredOwner

and:

HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\Current Version\RegisteredOrganization

Modify the keys.

"nice one,"

This does not solve the problem. If you notice, I wrote "Registered to"
in quotation marks. This would dictate that that was SPECIFICALLY what I was
asking about. If you check "Rock's" reply, you will learn how to do it.
Thank you though for your time in writing. I appreciate it.

"Rock,"
Dude, thanks A LOT for your time in writing. Your answer solved the
problem. I knew it could be done, I have been frustrated because I couldn't
remember. This is my first time using these newsgroups sharing info.
Because of you and this great experience for me, I will be back. Hopefully
next time I can be on the opposite end helping someone else. I really
appreciate it a lot.

Sincerely, "Egon 24" - John

Sharon,
Thanks for your suggestion. "Rock's" tip did the trick. I appreciate
your time...

To fix the "Registered to" information for WinNT/2K/XP, you can use
Start > Run > Regedit.exe to edit:

HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\Current Version\RegisteredOwner

and:

HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\Current
Version\RegisteredOrganization

How this will affect the name displayed in previously installed
applications will vary depending upon each individual program; some read
the registered owner information dynamically, while others read it only
during their installation.
