Registered owner change?

M

MG.

Hello to all. I recently gave my old PC's to my 2 girls for their use. I
wanted to change the registered user names to theirs and also delete the
last name from this for cookie privacy.
I searched MS's knowledge base and couldn't come up with anything and the
tip form annoyances.org (drill down the registry to | Microsoft | Windows |
Current Version| ) and there's no matching key for "registered owner".
Any help will be appreciated and thanks in advance to all who reply.
Best regards,
Morey G.

Wes,
Thanks for the heads up. I couldn't find the key because I wasn't looking
under "NT". Just windows! One more question please:
If I change the folder name "C:\Documents and Settings\"my name"\ etc."
will that foul anything up in terms of my home network? (pointers, routes,
etc).
Thanks again and regards,
Morey G

MG;
You betcha! I don't remember all the particulars, but yes it will foul things up.
Even if you were a stand alone machine. You have to create a new user or something.
Sorry I don't remember the whys.
