Can regedit be used to repair registry errors caused by a
virus, if I swap the hard drive out and have it as a
slave drive in an external bay? If so, how?

Thanks,

Assuming Win2k (since you asked in a Win2k news group):

regedit = no
regedt32 = yes (well, probably) -> Registry, Load Hive

WinXP or Win2k3:

regedit = yes -> File, Load Hive
