Regedit doesn't run

Whenever i try to run regedit a messages pops up saying
that the " Registry editing has been disabled by your
administrator". I'm the owner and the administrator and i
don't recall playing with its setting. How can i make
regedit to work ?

If you can't run regedit or regedt32 from the Run field
you've probably setup a policy. The message you're
getting refernce a policy is set up.
Start>Run>gpedit.msc>User Configuration>Administrative
Templates>System>Preven access to regeisty tools -
disable if this is enabled.
