Regarding startup issue

My system has started to run slow at start up and takes a couple of minutes
to get stable. Once everything is going the system tray is not loaded with
the few icons of programs that do load.

I can log off and back on and the sytem loads like normal.

Any ideas would be great.

It could be your virus scanner. Uninstall it temporarily, then see what
happens.
