Regarding Stand By

If I have the computer set to go into Stand By after 15 minutes of
"inactivity," and I have a download that takes longer than 15 minutes, will
Windows shut down and cut off my download?
To put it differently, will Windows recognize an open Internet connection
and a download-in-progress as "activity"?

System Sleep Criteria
As long as the system determines that there is application activity, it will
not put the system or any devices into the sleeping state. The system can
detect certain activities, such as user input or network communications.
However, there are other activities that the system cannot track. For
example, a presentation application requires the screen for display. However,
it may appear that the application is idle during the presentation, causing
the system to turn off the screen. These can be selected in Power Settings.

A Screen Saver is different from power settings [which switch off drives etc
or place the system in standby] and will activate and thus blank the display
or produce whatever effect is selected after a predefined period has elapsed
and no keyboard or mouse activity is detected.

Thank you for the reassuring response. I guess I won't worry about being cut
off in the middle of a download.
