- Consider what hardware/software changes you made recently.
- Boot into Safe Mode to see if the problem persists.
- Remove ***all*** non-essential devices (adapters, USB
devices etc) to see if the problem persists

Change the reboot behaviour so that the server doesn't reboot on crash
and see if anything useful can be found in the stop error message. Go
in the System Properties Advanced Startup and Recovery options to change
the Automatically reboot on crash settings. If that is not feasible or
if nothing further can be gained from the stop errors message you can
look in the memory dump file to see if anything useful is in there.

These 0000000a errors can be difficult to troubleshoot. They can be
caused by misbehaved software or virus, example here:
http://support.microsoft.com/?scid=kb;en-us;897079 or bad hardware,
example here:
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;908369&sd=rss&spid=3198

I am also getting this error on a win2k system that gets no updates. It's at
sp4, but doesnt connect to internet, or get updates of any kind. It's on
some manufacturing equipt, and just started doing this today. It seems to be
related to hardware, since I can put an image of the software as it came from
the manufacturer, and it still does the same thing. changed out memory,
video card, and took out nic, still does it immediately after it should come
up with the desktop (before) login (first time gui makes it's appearance)
its not networked as far as using servers at all, but does have a share that
is accessable to an administrator user (passworded of course) and uses an
office printer (jetdirect) for printing.
It basically only runs a certain application for the machine, and is
otherwise a skimped down ver of 2k.
I read there is a hotfix for this issue, any chance I could get my hands on
it?
I would love to try it, and see if it makes it interface with the hardware,
since it could be some issue with how windows is working with the pc.
oh, it is 256 ram, amd k62/500 cpu, with 2 gb part (1200 mb free) like i
said really skimped down to bare...
any help is greatly appreciated.
thx

You'll need to make the call to product support in order to obtain any
hotfixes. Tell them the article ID. Hotfixes have been and are always free.
