Reg Inability to Use My Sony DVD Writer

I am running Vista Business OS and recently I installed a brand new DVD
Writer (SONY DVD RW AW-G170 ATA) and Installed it using Nero Essentials 7. It
worked perfectly afterwards. Later I tried a Web upgrade to Nero Essentials 8
but then started the problem where INCD could not be started. Eventually I
uninstalled NE8 but am unable to use the DVD after that and I am unable to
install the NE7 as the drive just doesnt show up on my desktop. Even updating
the device driver online nor unistalling it seems to help me. When I try
updating the device driver online it tells me that I have the latest driver
installed for this device. And when I check the properties in Device Manager
under DVD/CD-ROM Drives it gives me this message "Windows cannot start this
hardware device because its configuration information (in the registry) is
incomplete or damaged. (Code 19)
Click 'Check for solutions' to send data about this device to Microsoft and
to see if there is a solution available." When I check online for the
solution it just quietly gives up. I have even used registry fixing software
to try and fix this problem but to no avail.

Checking online for this particular drive on Sony Website has also not been
helpful as this drive doesnt seem to be listed there either.

I tried replacing this drive with another CD writer but even this seems to
be disabled.

Can anyone help me and let me know what could be wrong and how to overcome
this problem.

Thanks in advance

Hi Carlos,

Thanks a million. It worked like a song. Thank you so much. May God Bless You.
