I have a ACER travelmate 661LMi with a build-in 4p-USB hub + USB card reader
The USB ports seem to work fine when i use a mouse or a keyboard or even a
GPS receiver.

BUT only when I plug-in a USB mass storage device like a external
card-reader, USB memory stick or a digital camera windows keeps refreshing te
connection
like in; ON OFF ON OFF ON OFF ON OFF ON OFF ...
DRIVE F:\ .. NO drive .. DRIVE F:\ .. no drive .. DRIVE F:\ .. no drive
etc....

It just freaks me out!
I have tried everything, drivers, firmware .. really everything.

I clamed that it is the windows USB power management that is not working
properly

Please HELP!!

Have you tried another card in your USB reader? It could
be that the card you are trying to access is damaged. Try
it in another computer if you can and attempt to retrieve
the data, once you have done that you can right click on
the removable drive and select format, this will wipe all
the data from the card and hopefully it will useable
again.

Also try all of your USB ports, if you have more than one.

The hardware is not broken, the cards are all good (xD MMS etc.)
It is just the connection .. plus I have tryed more cardreaders

My digicam has sevreal options like playing a Card reader or playing a
"scanner"
When I set my digicam in the scanner option windows sees it not as a hard
drive but as a "Photo camera", then I can browse te pictuers but not the
movies and it is Read Only.

It is really just a mass storage problem
