Reformatting XP

Why is it so difficult to reformatt my c:\ drive w/ XP? I
like to reformatt my hard-drive every so often to get rid
of stuff and XP has me bangin' my head against a wall.

Any advice would be grrreat!

Unlike the Windows 9x operating systems, with XP there is no longer any need
to reformat your hard drive every so often.

all you need to do is boot with your CD
formatting is an install option

you really should not need to do that however
or did you get some really bad virus?
