Hi

You can either perform a 'Repair' install of or a 'Clean' install of XO.
Please a look at the following articles by Michael Stevens:

Just boot from the Windows XP CD (change the BIOS boot order if
necessary to accomplish this) and follow the prompts for a clean
installation (delete the existing partition by pressing "D" when
prompted, then create a new one).

You can find detailed instructions here:
http://michaelstevenstech.com/cleanxpinstall.html

or here http://windowsxp.mvps.org/XPClean.htm

or here http://www.webtree.ca/windowsxp/clean_install.htm

and can I re

Yes.

To answer the other part of your question, Windows XP can be installed an
unlimited amount of times on the SAME COMPUTER ONLY.

Hello,

I recommend you using KillDisk software to prepare your HDD for WinXP
reinstall. You can download it from www.killdisk.com. It is capable of
erasing the whole drive, so that you can start from scratch and verify
yourself how to re-partition your drive and which file system to use
afterwards.

RUBBISH!
If the OP has a retail copy it can be installed on as many different
machines as he likes, as long as it is removed from the previous machune.

Why? You can delete all partitions and re-create and format them during a
clean install of XP.
Why bother with yet another piece of unneccessary software?

Hi Phil

You first need to backup important documents, email, data etc. Then go into
the bios and boot from the windows xp cd. From there you can format you hard
disk and reinstall windows.
