How do I reformat drive C: under XP Home so I can re-
install all of the original software and start with a
clean system. I have a laptop with a CD drive but no
floppy drive. Thank you.

Just boot from the Windows XP CD ROM.
You may need to set this in the laptop BIOS - see your laptop manual for
more details.

Greetings --

Simply boot from the WinXP Installation CD. You'll be offered the
opportunity to delete, create, and format partitions as part of the
installation process. (You may need to re-arrange the order of boot
devices in the PC's BIOS to boot from the CD.)
