Refill Epson Cart for C86 (TO441) ?

Bob

I have the listed printer/cartridge - where/how do I poke the hole to
refill it? There does not appear to be any convenient rubber plug to
stick a needle in like my previous Canon cartridges.

Thanks,

Thanks,
If you followed Epson's advice you would not be asking the question but
you would be enjoying OEM results.

You have to drill it. Then find something to plug the hole when the
cartridge is refilled. Or just go buy a new cartridge.

There are a number of websites that explain how to refill these
cartridges to best reuse them. Indeed a hole needs to me made with a
heated poker or other method. You will also have to reset the chip on
the outside of the cartridge using a Epson chip resetter, which are sold
in many locales including regularly on ebay.

Easy enough

So the trick would be to refill before they go empty? Does the chip
track more info than a binary "empty" indication ?

NOT REALLY
Meankite, it is tough when you are clogged to make a hole in the
cartridge with a heated poker. Once your brain clog is clear, you'll be
able to type in lower case. You might also be able to make the hole a lot
more easily.
CHECK FOR PATENT VIOLATION
Which patent is that? Or are you just making this up?
Which means it may, or it may not. Meankite has no idea. He is trolling,
as always.

It doesn't matter when in the chips lifespan you do the refill, and
reset, as the chip is rewritten too each time the printer is turned off,
and yes, it believe they are using about a 4 or 5 bit resolution. The
chips don't get burned out when they go "empty", so you can reset an
"empty" (zero value) cartridge chip to full just as easily as one
reading 10% full...
