Referenced memory

Guest

Each time I power up my notebook, the following message appears: " The
instruction at 0x004015d4 referenced memory at 0x00000000. the memory could
not be read. Click OK to terminate program. Click cancel to debug the
program.

I normally click cancel to debug the program. Can anyway shed any light as
to what is causing the error message and how to fix it?

Thanks.

You should rule out hardware (RAM) problems. I had a series of
messages like yours, and I thought it was Windows flakiness, but the
culprit turned out to be a bad RAM chip.

Visit http://www.memtest.org and download the free memory tester. If
you have a bad chip it will tell you the location.
