Reference Memory Error

One of my users is running Windows XP and Office XP on a
Windows 2000 server. He was opening a Word file when this
error message came up:

"The instruction at "0x77f58024" referenced memory
at "0x00000000". The memory could not be read. Click on OK
to terminate the program".

He says this happens with Adobe also. Is this a registry
problem? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

.
How much memory (RAM) does he have in that system?
If you Rt click on my computer and click properties at the
bottom, the next window that come up will tell you. If he
has less than 256 meg, it might be low on memory. Also, if
he added ram recently, it may be the wrong kind or a stick
may be burning out or going bad.....Bill
