I'm tring to email a too-large attachment. I wish to reduce file space
(memory) used in a Power Point presentation. I think conversion to thumbnails
may do this. I don't know how to do that and there may be a better way.
Appreciate your help.

Try ZIP

Lots of pictures? If so go to compress pictures in the picture toolbar.

Maybe zip the presentation

remove any unnecessary sound clips?

Pam,

I have created a Powerpoint add in to handle this very issue. I am looking
bor a few beta testers so if you like, drop me an email and I will set you
up with a copy.

What versions of ppt support this? I cannot find it in 97 and 2000.

Have you try NXPowerLite Exe that incredibly reduces the weight
