I'm not sure if this is the right place to ask..but I'm desperate.
I use search engines like Google and Yahoo! to search for websites.
Everytime I try to click on a link through the search engine, I get directed
to an ad instead of the website. Is there a solution to fix this?

Vanna, this is a classic symptom of Adware, a system installed without your
knowledge to redirect you to junk you are not interested in each time you
try to find something you are interested in.

There are numerous companies doing this and many variations, so many that
it's almost impossible to rectify manually, so I'm afraid you will now have
to grab a couple of amazingly useful (and FREE) programs to help you out.

After you see what these find come back and post again if the problem is not
automatically fixed.

SpyBot Search and Destroy

Microsoft Antispyware

Important - LSP-Fix

Be aware that using either of these to actually remove spyware can result in
some programs refusing to work, in other words "Free" programs that you
downloaded on condition you accepted ads and so called "Research" may get
broken and you might want to uninstall them first. Some spyware actually
breaks Windows trying to force it's way in and you should arm yourself with
LSP-Fix before starting in case you lose internet connectivity.
