Is it possible to make LPT1 actually equal LPT3?

I would actually like to do this. Computer has a Physical LPT1. Changing the
address in the BIOS will just change the address but not the DOS assignment
right? Or does XP assign DOS printers ports via address?

If you go into Port Settings for LPT1 in Device Manager you will have
option to make LPT1 into LPT3.
