Redeploying Office 2003 with SP1

Hello:

I am in the process of redeploying my Office 2003 with SP1. When I first
deployed Office 2003 I created a software installation point deployed it via
a GPO. When SP1 came out I rolled the update into my installation point and
then redeployed my GPO. The GPO deployed to users computers and everything
seemed fine. Soon I found that about 30% of the time even though the GPO
deployed to the computer SP1 was not on the computer.

On the machine that still said they were the original version I UNC'ed to
the installation point and ran the msi file for the install. When it
completed SP1 was installed. If I look in the Application log on the server
I can see successful events for the GPO install so I know I am not
experiencing any permissions problems. In a few cases when I did the
redeploy I got a corrupt error so I deleted the existing package and then
created a new one. I don't think this method would cause any problems?

Does anyone know what might be going on here? Is there a better way to
update my clients to Office 2003 SP1?
