How come I have red x on my shared network drives? When I double click on
the dirve, it opens fine. Does anyone know why this is the case and can this
red x be removed?

thanks.

Must be done server side of the connection.

| Can this be done on the workstation (PC) side?

The command works nicely when executed on a domain-
connected WinXP Professional workstation - I just tried it
myself. Whether it has the desired effect I do not know
because I don't get the red Xs. The OP would have to test
this for himself, as I suggested. It's a very easy and a very
quick test! I hope that he will report the result.

Are you saying you didn't get disconnects before as well? What command?
Hopefully not;
net config server

My clients did not report disconnects. And yes, the command was

net config server /autodisconnect:-1

This must be done sever side of the connection. Running 'net config server'
command turns off auto tuning of the server service which usually isn't a
desirable effect.
