I am running ME operting system. The icons on my desktop, all but 10, are
partcial covered over with a red animal looking figure laying on its back
with the arms and legs spread out and its face has a black mask with white
dots for eyes.K

This group is for the Access Database program. For WinME, I suggest a WinME
newsgroup, perhaps microsoft.public.windowsme.general.

In the mean time, do a virus scan, a spy ware scan, a check to see if
someone has changed the overlay icon for shortcuts using Tweak UI in Control
Panel, and try deleting a hidden file in the Windows directory called
ShellIconCache and reboot. The file will be rebuilt when you reboot. It
holds all of the currently displayed icons so that they're in one place and
the file will occasionally get corrupted.

The icon you describe sounds like the one used by an image viewer/editting
program called IfranView. When it is installed all files associated with
it will display this icon. IfranView can be associated with all types of
image files, video files and sound files. If IfranView is installed on
your pc and the programs/shortcuts you refer to fall into one of the three
categories mentioned then what you see is normal.

Oh, and yeah, this group is for the database MSAcess. :-)
