recyle bin has 61 files but when i open recyle bin there is nothin

When I look at the recycle bin icon on my desktop it shows that there is
something in the recycle bin, but when I open it there is nothing there. And
everytime I empty the recycle bin it asks me if I want to delete 61 files. I
checked the properties so that the "do not move files to the recycle bin,
remove files immediately when deleted" box is unchecked. I made sure that
the slider was over to give space to the recycle bin, but nothing seems to
help. Everytime I delete a file it does not show up in the recycle bin.
What's going on with my recycle bin.

It's a common corruption problem, which is usually fixed by:

1. With the Recycle Bin closed: Right click the Recycle Bin desktop icon, left click:
Empty Recycle Bin. Reboot your system. All future deleted files should then list when
the Recycle Bin is opened.

Every user has there own "recycle" bin entries. Each user can only see
their own entries in Recycle bin. Administrators should be able to ckear
this up.

Nothing has worked I right clicked the Recycle Bin desktop icon, left clicked:
Empty Recycle Bin & Rebooted my system and that didn't work. I am the
administrator of my computer. I even logged on to the guest account and
there were "2 files" in the recycle bin that were not showing up in the
recycle bin but every time I emptied the recycly bin it asked me if I wanted
to delete 2 files. Any other suggestions?

Do you have Norton System Works or the like with Norton Protected
Recycle Bin enabled?
