RECYCLER folder

In all my WinXP drives, I have a RECYCLER folder in the root drive with a
very large number of files. Is it OK to delete these files and if so, will
simply hitting the delete key do the job? I mean how do you send the
contents of the RECYCLER folder to the recycle bin?

Open up the recycler and open File -> Empty Recycle Bin

Hi Sitara,

Right click on the Recycle Bin (probably on the Desktop) and select
"Empty Recycle Bin". That will empty the Recycler folder (unless you
have Norton, which will create Norton Protected Folders within the
Recycler folder). If you have a Norton Protected Recycle Bin, right
clicking and selecting "Empty Norton Protected Files" will empty all the
Norton recycled files. (IF you have Norton, they are two different
operations)

The "recycle" bin stores the file name and path for file restoration. So
are the files actually still on the drive? You don't say how you
"deleted" the files.
