Click Start, Run and enter REGEDIT For the New Start Menu, go to:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\HideDes
ktopIcons\NewStartPanel
For the Classic Start Menu, go to:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\HideDes
ktopIcons\ClassicStartMenu
Look in the right pane for a value named:
{645FF040-5081-101B-9F08-00AA002F954E} If it exists, set the value to 1,
if it isn't already. Do this by double clicking the
{645FF040-5081-101B-9F08-00AA002F954E} value and changing it.
If the value doesn't exist, right click in the right pane, select New, DWord
value and name it:
{645FF040-5081-101B-9F08-00AA002F954E}
Modify as above.
