My recycle bin shows full but when I open it up there is nothing there.

When I empty it, each time it tells me there are 3 files to delete. After I
delete them, the same thing happens over and over each time I enter it.

Is there anything I can do to fix this problem?

Thanks for any help

Is it possible you deleted files on a removable drive and its no longer
connected?

Yes it was from a external Hard Drive, but it still attached and shows up
with the balance of the folders and files that are there.

I have rebooted the system a few times.

Sorry, I'm of no hope for you. I fixed mine, maybe by just formatting
the drive, but I'm not sure. I just remember reading a lot about the
construction of the recycle folder and recycle bin and thought about
editing things but gave that up. Still I just delete with shift-del
now instead of just del which does not send to the recycle bin.

Just make sure the drive is the same letter it was when you deleted the
files maybe. If I put my thumb drive in as E: the external HD winds up
F: and all by sync programs fail. I have to remember to remove the
thumb drive and let the external HD become E:.
