recycle bin

Documents deleted are not retained in the recycle bin. Desk top icons
deleted are retained. What needs to be changed so that documents from "My
Documents" are kept in the recycle bin?

You must delete them from within Windows Explorer, NOT from the File >
Open or File > Save dialog in Office programs.
